‘Dilemma That Is Pakistan’ by Maj Gen Abhi Parmar, VSM (Retd)
Well done, Prime Minister. We are truly proud of you and your team .👍
But don’t forget you have hurt the Islamic pride. You have hurt and demolished the image of Pakistan, which till few days back was the self-proclaimed leader of the Islamic military might. It was the only nation that possessed the nukes. It was the savior of Islam from the Kaffirs.
You have shamed them, disgraced them and humiliated them in front of the world.
How would they take it ??
Let us look through the eyes and mind of Munir.
For Pakistani public ,their Army was the ultimate symbol of power , their guardians, their protectors against the wily and treacherous Indians.
They had won all the wars against India for them , including the 71 war, and had bled India through a thousand cuts in the last 50 years.
And today that very infidel India has brought the mighty Pak Army down to its knees in just four days. They are mentally paralysed and are unable to think and digest it. So what does Munir do to salvage his and his Army’s image. The country has no money. It begs and survives on doles.
China is its only ally, but the support comes at a huge cost and many conditions. Some were unacceptable but had to be agreed to.
It is now surrounded by hostility from every side.
Munir is desperate now. He is asking himself what he should do. He needs an answer, and he wants it pretty quick unless he takes the first step and declares Marshal Law to buy some time. But even that may backfire because his trust bank is running low on supportes. Then what. To make matters worse, he has Modi sitting across the fence who, despite constant internal hurdles , has acquired the reputation of जो कहता है वो करता है ( He does what he says)
And then that silent assassin Doval.
It is said ,”When Doval talks, he is dangerous, but when he is quiet, he is lethal.”
To further compound the problem, there is a strong murmur of a possible radiation leak after the Indian strikes at Sargodha and Jacobabad.
There are any number of articles written regarding the possibility of Kirana Hill nuclear store house ,actually belonging to the US and when that was hit ,the US hit the panic button and forced Pakistan to plead for a cease fire. There have been some rumours in the past too that most of the nukes that the Pakis possess are actually American assets and they control the keys but that will remain a subject of speculation and debates. One thing that we must understand that Pakistan will remain important to the US for reasons more than one and will continue getting favours notwithstanding many Osama Bin Ladens.
So back to Asim Munir .
His first aim would be to find ways and means to stay in power and then decide on the retaliation. Whether leaving him alive was a mistake or a blunder, only time will tell, but if he survives, he will strike. That is certain.
He will try and reignite the valley since there are a large number of seasoned and hard-core terrorists, safely living there, sheltered by the local supporters , waiting for orders from across. Kashmir will take at least two generational changes to come to terms with India ( a hope) .
Pakistan also has equally large numbers of sleepers and sympathisers in India who are quite capable of carrying out violent and destructive activities. Obviously, they will leave no traces to connect them to ISI . Munir will ensure that.
His next course of action will be to reassess and re-evaluate his war arsenal, especially the Air Def and the missile system. He would have no doubts about the future engagement rules with India and the relevance of the electronics in the contact less war of future. Thrust, therefore, will be more on improving the success rate and the lethality of his drones and AI aided missile system .
This is no brainer.
So let us see how the two sides change their opening narratives. However, in this fast changing rules of future engagement ,
I get a strong hunch that our good old foot soldier, who from the advent of warfare has stood tall and held the front line during every conflict, may slowly get pushed back to the second row.
But he will be there, alright . Ultimately, it will be his war cry that will cease the fire.
Prime Minister Modi is a visionary and must be thinking ten steps ahead on all these counts. Hope our countrymen give him the support he deserves.
Jai Bharat 🙏
Abhi Parmar
P.S. As I write this , Munir has taken the first step and promotes himself as a Field Marshal.
Great analysis. My compliments to the author.
Sir, straight from the heart, couldn’t agree with you more.
May I take the liberty of penning down a few takeaways for Pakistan.
– Gen Asim Munir totally mis-read his adversary. He needs to go back to his Staff College to learn how to wargame his options.
– While planning the Pahalgam attack he totally ignored the red-line (India’s threshold) and went beyond. As a military man it should be his bread and butter to know the red-lines India has drawn for itself.
– His appreciation of fueling communal divide within India through this action in Pahalgam totally failed. Infact, it brought India even closer.
– While Gen Munir thought that his heinous plan would be a master stroke and will be lauded by all the Kashmiris. But he didn’t realize that by doing this, he has pushed and plunged the entire Kashmiri fraternity into poverty, not only for now, but for many coming years.
– Pakistan’s nuclear bluff or bogey was totally demolished. They need to work more on it.
– General sahib needs to give a major re-think on the origin and type of weapon and equipment they possess and procure.
– Gen Munir needs to carry out a serious analysis of the current dispensation in India. He seems to have gone totally wrong in his appreciation.
While Gen Munir may have patted himself on the back, but he has exposed his and his countries hollowness. Gen Musharraf made a similar mistake in 1999 and now he has followed suit. Will generals in Pakistan ever learn their lessons right?
